My puppy, a cairn terrier, just turned a year old. He has a big problem though. He can't stop tearing up his bed! It seems as though that it has gotten worse the older he gets. We excersise him regularly, but he just won't stop. I heard about the stuff that tastes really bad, and your supposed to spray it on whatever you don't want them to chew up, but i don't think i should spray it on his bed. Help!!

i dont think its a problem with excercise.your supposed to teach them that its bold to do things like that.hes just being destructive
Have you tried giving him other things to chew, play, destroy!
There are many toys that you can buy but a Kong can be invaluable in saving thousands of pounds worth of damage from a growing pup! It can be filled with treats but takes quite a while for him to get it out. It doesn't replace interaction with your pup but it might be worth a go.

Of course you still need to be training him so that he will get to realise what behaviour you like and dislike.
Good luck!

That is the thing with my dog. He plays with a toy for 5 minutes and then doesn't touch it again. Trust me, he has over 20 toys!
I agree about the spray on stuff, doesn't sound very nice. Why not just buy a basic plastic pre-moulded bed and for bedding, use old clothesand and blankets from jumble sales or charity shops, many have these purely for pet bedding.
