Sitting underneath the kitchen window in the sun today and something landed on my head. Thought it was the wife dropping a tea towel out the window on me for a joke.
It was a robin which then moved to the table beside me before flying off.

Oh that is just lovely, I would love that to happen to me, I believe they are so light that you would barely feel the weight of them,my sister often has a robin feed from the palm of her hand - to me, I think it would be a great thing, that the robin trust you not to slap at your head and hurt it
Many years ago, I took a group of blind kids to London. It was in the days where there was a stall in Trafalgar Square selling corn for the pigeons. We got the kids to stand very still, with their arms outstretched and with corn in each of their open hands.

I'll never forget the look of shear joy (even if sometimes tinged with a certain amount of apprehension) on those kids' faces as they felt the pigeons landing on their heads, arms and hands.
What a lovely thing to do with those children Chris. Very moving.

Wonder where I broke the answerbank rules,?
Some should learn to lighten up.
Was probably hoping for some crumbs needawin, I'd have some ready for it next time. I have a little robin that is always waiting for me in a certain spot when I walk my dog and I throw him (or her) some food. I look forward to seeing him.
Maybe set aside a dish of meal worms on the table to welcome the feathered friend.
Sweet joy.
I've got a wonderful black and white photo of me with my dad in Trafalgar Square when I was about eleven and he has a pigeon perched on top of his head. Its one of my favourite photos taken by a photographer in the square and we had gone there on a Sunday morning to get my dad's car taxed as the post office there was open. I remember it so clearly.
Knowing my luck, it'll be a vulture land on my head. Or an ostrich.
