OMG never seen anything like that before and never want to again. I was praying her mate would come to her rescue. I need to know the outcome.

It happened in Sheffield last year. The intruder won the battle. The resident male tried to incubate the eggs, 1 hatched but didn't live for long. The male and intruding female are now a pair and are sitting on 2 eggs.
Melv the length of the fight astounds me, well over 2 hours. They both look exhausted but I think the resident looked the worst of the pair. Seems like it happened on the 7th?? so we probably will never know the outcome. I'm off to look at what the nest looks like now as that might tell me something. Thank you so much for posting, awful as it is.
Wondering if Tilly's seen this.
Its a shame it came to blows but "nature in the raw is seldom mild"
