I experienced this first hand. Rarely do I go to Wetherspoons for food. Had done so only once before. But I'd looked in the larder that evening and saw nothing I wanted, so I checked the Internet and eventually decided to walk (in the drizzle) to the nearest Wetherspoons and try their steak club. (And wallop the diet.)

Got there to see a note on the bar saying none of 3 types of steak were available. Typical ! The one time I go there for a steak and they have issues. I tried to order have a gammon instead, as that was a normal dish, not a club night one. Not got that either.

I end up having a beef & ale pie (oh Lor' the calories) which wasn't up to that much. Taste minimal, hard peas reminded me of school meals.

It was only today I discovered it wasn't that pub alone, it was 900 up & down the country ! What a screw up !

(Luckily I wasn't told I could eat pet food instead or I may not have been able to remain calm. That would have been maliciously pouring salt into an open wound. Sick sense of humour, some folk.)
I had this in nandos the other day, it was really nice. I probably wouldn't be too happy if I went out specifically for steak though.
Don't do titles like that, Dave! I was getting the bike out for a trip to your house..... :-(

Oooh - get you - is you going all posh, fluffy?

I bet you can pronounce Quinoa too?
I can pronounce it as it is actually written or the weird way some folk claim it's pronounced.
of course its "cowpie"

Pet Food, OG??
-- answer removed --
Yes or course. Why the question ? No human can really want to eat guinea pig or rabbit fodder.
having tried a guinea pig nugget i can confirm no human wants to eat guinea pig food...

Ah - I see - you mean Green Crap.

You had me re-reading the DM article to find the reference to Winalot Pie and Chum Bake
Hmm... is Winalot made from beef & ale ?
I had a Guinea pig once, tasted nothing like pork.
