.....MrG would have raised his eyebrows at me today......

Neither of us was sweary......well he said bloody once I remember.....

Today I went down the garden to pick some green stuff for his grave and discovered.....my fence had broken! Must have been Ael's Doris I guess.....

Now I've worked hard on my fences and thought this bit was okay but no.... Never mind......more workmen to employ......bliss...... :-)

Then I noticed that a robin was building its nest in a cast iron bird home teapot that's been there for four years with nothing in it.....

This year the robin makes its home in the teapot....at long last....and the sweary word fence is falling down......

So I swore!........ :-(

Oh, Tilly....I don't know what to do.......shall I try to move the fence post with the nest box on it to somewhere safe?....x

Oh it was lots of fffffffing fences, Patsy........I don't get many nesting birds in this garden......and this happens!
Please leave the fence alone, gness. The robin is so much more important xx
Isn't life strange...... You look after the robin first and everything else will fall into place (pardon the pun)

I know, Helly......I've had unsupported beans in the past because the robin nested on the poles in the shed....but if this fence falls....which it will soon....it's going to do a lot of damage to next door......or my shed.

My plants I will happily sacrifice if it lands my side...though it'd squash the nest......But it won't be fair on the girl next door.....

I wonder if I postcreted the post just a few yards from where it is now the robin would accept it....x
That might be the best option gness..
I put several next boxes in my daughter's garden. Got nowt int boxes, but a great tit nested in an old header tank that contained a pump for the pond.
I think I might just put the teapot somewhere else but somewhere stable.

The fence will need to be mended before the robins have fledged, I imagine.

They can choose odd places, Melv....for all we do to try to help them.....x

I suppose I could inch it up the garden to a firm post, Tilly......and hope it follows.....I'll get no gardening done caring for this robin..... :-)
