And one might take this test to see why one never got that promotion which went to someone less qualified.
Sandy....when did it ever stop ?

A quote from you link :::

"One employer frankly admitted his firm’s recruitment practices were loaded against young working-class applicants. But, he asked: “How much mud do I have to sift through in that population to find that diamond?”

When some people have attitudes like that, this situation will never change.
Sandy....I took the test and apparently I am 37% posh ..... I am not sure who was more surprised....me or my Valet !
Lah di dah, get me. 10% posh.

I don't believe that test. I got 40% and I think the only reason for that is I sometimes shop in M&S.
Ha ha, a 37% posh Aussie, well, I'll be ***,,,pardon my french.
"The best man for the job" is not necessarily the man with the highest qualifications as if that was the case, then interviews would be unnecessary. Quite often the best man for a particular job is the one that is well dressed, well groomed and spoke with a rather "posh" accent and that type of applicant is unlikely to come from a Comprehensive school education.

Yes, as i have always known and written on AB, that the UK has a class divided society..............and by and large........long may it continue.
Sandy...I go to the opera occasionally, when I can afford it, and eat at the dining room table ( where else ? ) ...that was my downfall .... Wagner and table manners !
Sqad ( Morning...hope everything is ticking along nicely ! )

....long may it continue ?

Why ?

///You are 60% Posh!///

Now there's a *** surprise (Pardon my French)

^ That'll be the Barbour jacket, the hounds, and the motors. ☺

The Horse Riding and Skiing lessons helped!

Family Business was (in part) a Riding Stables and The RMs taught me to Ski.
Morning mikey......getting stronger say by day thank you, although I am not ready for the Club yet.

The alternative to a Class "ridden" society doesn't appeal to me one little bit as it does suggest a hint of Communism about it, plus, that it has worked, by and large in the past serving the country well.
I'm apparently 43% posh. "SALT OF THE EARTH - As ordinary as cardboard. You're a man/woman of the people but show some signs of manners and being brought up right." That'll do for me.
Just done the test....70% POSH.
*** it I thought that i was 100%.
I think it's terrible. Before Labour came to power in 1997 we had 5(I think) state educated Prime Ministers in a row. Since they came to power, we've had 5 public schoolboys elected and 1 foisted upon us. Talk about elitist.
Longest serving Labour Prime Minister.........TONY BLAIR....a public school educated Politician.
I'm 70% as well. How jolly!
Sqad....we have had 10 Tory Prime Ministers since 1900, and 9 of them went to Public School, the vast majority to Eton.

It doesn't sound like much a meritocracy to me !
I'm 47% posh. Hang on while I go and take it again. :)
