Does anyone have the best solution on dealing with moles.I have tried various things including the trap but they seem to dig either side of the trap & miss it, or a stone flies into the trap before the mole

a few years ago i had a pesky mole and i put a hose pipe down in the run and turned the water on full blast, after a few minutes it actually came up to the surface which i wasnt expecting.my son managed to get it in a bucket and we put it in the nearby wood.never saw it again but be warned they are quite vicious little things.maybe i was just lucky but worth a try.
Time. I had them in one end of my garden, after a year or two, they exhausted the worm supply and moved on. They left the soil in beautiful condition.
use the pushed up earth to topdress the lawn - as to how to get rid of them is anyone's guess - some have success with one method where others have failed. Moth balls (if you can get them) rose twigs in the run, citronella oil - all sorts of methods - we've learned to live with them as hate killing anything.

There are these 'sound' gadgets, a bit like the cat repellent gadget, which emit a high pitch sound they don't like. We had a mole last year and bought one but never got round to putting it out as he disappeared ( I think my cats got him) so can't vouch for it, but apparently works.
Don't be making a mountain out of a molehill. They can't be doing that much harm. :-)
Don't know how to get rid of the mole but I love that Jasper Carrott sketch
