Kept the Kitten...!

A few may remember my minor crisis last week regarding our new kitten. It had a bad case of fleas and my GF (home alone whilst I was in Ireland) more than a little bit overreacted!! She summised that we perhaps were not the right people to keep a cat and wanted to get rid. This annoyed several people on here and on relfection they were correct. I decided that to take it from its mother, keep it 2 days and then pass it on again was really wrong.

I am glad to report that after a couple of minor settling in issues, we are glad to have kept the kitten. He is a real character, very healthy and a welcome addition to the home.

Turns out I AM a cat person and really enjoy having it about and giving it a loving home.....

I hope you are now in training for becoming a slave - as that kitten will have you wrapped around its little finger in no time!

Lol at frankie, sure I don't have to tell you but find out from your vets how soon they will do the chop - and get him down there - the last thing your partner needs is for him to start spraying!!

Ikea sell sticky rollers dirt cheap which take the cat hair from clothes - I keep one in the car, one in the office and one by the front door - just in case.

Hard as it may be you will need to make ground rules and stick to them - like not cats on the kitchen worktops or the dining table - they are my only rules but i do adhere to them - otherwise good luck and we look forward to the updates!!

Glad to hear it jd, but just wait until it grows up and exerts/extends it's influence over you.

I'm afraid Max and Storm rule this house. Right now one is lying full length on the radiator while the other is in bed, but they will soon waken up and start making their demands.

We have a small water pistol and if it jumps up somewhere it shouldnt be, it will receive a sharp squirt!!
6 months for the chop, its got his injections and worming due this week.
I beleive in sticking to rules no matter how cute it is. But my GF melts for his "cute eyes" that he does!!

The over the counter flea treatment worked. We bought a special flea comb and havent brushed any out dead or alive in 3 days now so fingers crossed.

Your GF won't fall for his cute eyes when he starts giving her presents of mice or a pigeon :-)

It is completely nuts!! It bounces all over the house ALWAYS does the one thing you hope it wont like climbing into the dishwasher when you are unloading it or putting its paw in your orange juice that you put on the floor, for literally 2 seconds! But wouldnt change it now!

But I love the spirit in the little thing.
And I cant see myself getting angry with him. More so myself if something I overlook ends in the cat comin a cropper or breaking something!
