This afternoon I was chilling out at home, perusing the AB and listening to Tori Amos, when I imagined I heard a strange whining noise over the CD player. Only I didn't! Didn't imagine it that is. There was a strange whining noise, and it wasn't Jedward.
I went into the kitchen and the noise seemd to be coming from the water pipes so I scoured the kitchen and bathroom, frantically searching for the source of noise and worried sick in case the house flooded before I found it. Could I find it? Could I ^&%*? It seemed to come and go as the afternoon went on, but it was there in the background.
The boss lady came home from work and immediately remarked on the noise so we looked again. Again, we found nothing, so I was despatched to the attic to look further. All seemed well up there, and it was still coming and going, but we hadn't a clue what it was.
Five minutes ago I opened the back door to let the cat, in and the outside tap was still running, and had been since I used it to rinse out the food waste recycling bin at about 15:00, roughly ten minutes before I noticed the noise. I may not let on the her upstairs what has happened. Perhaps it just cleared up?
