such a delight serving the gracious and polite general public, it warms the hear to know that the season of goodwill is so unanimously embraced. It gives you a warm glow inside............though that could be the bacardi and diet pepsi i've just necked in seconds. Give me strength

oooo I bought some champagne truffle things at lunch time, chocolate things, might indulge christmas day. we're trying some mulled wine on christmas eve, not too sure i'll like that,
I didn't think I'd like mulled wine either but I tried it with rum at the AB German Market meet-up...by golly it was moorish...
Makes a change from pensioner bashing dotty keep it up
Another hour to go for me before I traipse across the field and imbibe a few wobbly-pops. Antichipation is great, innit?
Went shopping today, last time until at least two days after Christmas. All the salespersons were polite, cheerful and helpful. Thanks to those who made a cold, wet visit to the shops a positive experience.
Awww don't dotty, ive got all day tomorrow to go yet.

I'm already dreading the "WHADDA MEAN YOU'VE NO TURKEYS LEFT????" type statements from the delightful general public :-(
You're paid to serve the public with respect, a smile and a cheerful manner.
The customer is ALWAYS right.

:)
of course hc, of course....

(twonks that they all are)

;-)
If it wasn't for the 'twonks' you wouldn't have a job

No one wants to be served by a shop assistant with a face like a slapped Yabbie

By the way, if you`re nice to people, they tend to be nice back. Try it. If it`s just a good moan they want, then field it to the right people who are paid to sort out the problems.
I went to Tesco this morning, I thought I'd get there early as I couldn't face it last night - not only was it raining enough to float the Ark, the store was absolutely heaving, and it was still dark.....

for all you sarky gits who think i don't know how to cowtow to the great unwashed after 42 years in retail, I do, I'm perfect charm and politeness itsself, does not mean i can't call them rotten for their bizarre, patronisong, rude, abrupt and god awful manners. It's not easy to tolerate sometimes but god loves a trier and I can disarm the most objectionable punters when I am at my smiling best, don't take away my chance to diss them by thinking it matters that you think i'm rude and bad at my job, i'm neither.
dotty, I know what you mean. Anyone who works facing the public (as I do too, but in a different environment) has to put on the public smile - it doesn't mean that I don't kick the door sometimes as soon as I've put the phone down.
LOL, make them have it dot.

do you know someone rang up today and asked if anyone there spoke turkish. i said no sorry, they said okay and hung up. that's bizarre. another woman rang up and asked what time we opened boxing day because she had phones 4 times and noone had answered the phone.........the fact we have had a queue 20 people long for most of the day with all 4 tills manned meant nothing to her, she needed to know what we were doing boxing day, that's another bizarre one bordering on patronising. another bloke kicked off because we had run out of fiancee xmas cards, the fact that the xmas cards have been out since october went over his head, he was just rude.
