My son is desperate for work and has an interview next week for a leaflet dropping job, full time . He hasnt worked for over a year and is overweight with high blood pressure and a history of mini strokes. He also has no good shoes after being on js allowance for all this time. I think he should ask his doctor before taking this sort of work on does anyone here have any experience of this and how hard it would be for him to do.

I don't really know but it sounds as though the exercise might do him good. Will he have to carry around a huge amount of weight? He might be able to use a shopping trolley kind of thing to put the leaflets in.
Asking the doctor is a good idea and he will need a decent pair of walking trainers/shoes.
Whilst I was pondering, Tilly has said what I was trying to phrase.

Reasonably priced shoes would be a different matter, but at the risk of sounding like an advert, have a look in supermarkets. Also decent waterproofs too would be a consideration.
walking will help him lose weight and keep him fit
losing weight will reduce his BP
Can you not offer to buy a decent pair of walking trainers for him?
If he is lucky to get the job I personally think this could be the making of him
I'm pretty sure his GP will have told him to lose weight and take gentle exercise
I don;t see an issue with him taking this job, even temporarily

Thank you all for your answers. I did think the walking was good and he already walks every day but was just worried that all day every day might be too much. Of course I will buy him good trainers if he get the job and think he should check with the doctor first but when he was first made redundant he had a morning paper round and he loved that. Does anyone know if these sorts of jobs are reliable. Thanks
I really don't know but judging by the amount of flippin pizza and chines menus we get, there is work for every day of the week
The good thing is, if it does get too much, he can split deliveries and do some in the evenings
How ever long it lasts it's experience :) I wish him luck
