I have just had a weird phonecall. The man was basically shouting down the phone, so it was quite distorted and I couldn't hear him properly as he had a foreign accent. He knew my name (which he could have got anywhere) and he was saying something about knowing our interent is running slow. I asked him who he was again and who had told him that but I couldn't understand what he was saying as it was all distorted but heard 'internet service provider' and 'internet running slow'. I told him to ring another time.
Could it have been a scam? I know my husband spoke to Virgin a week or so ago who we are with for TV, phone and broadband but he was talking about our tv package and mentioned broadband as they tried to get him to take up one of their offers but I'm not sure if he told them it was running slow, think he just said it works but isn't great.
Anyone else had a call like that out of the blue? Did I put the phone down on a genuine call? lol
Sounds like a scam to me. I mean, who doesn't have a slow running internet? If he was from Virgin he would have spoken very clearly and respectfully. I would ignore it.
