I will soon be staying in an hotel for a few nights where I know that wifi will be available in the room. I wouldn't hesitate to take a laptop, but would it be cheeky to take a 26" all in one desktop?

:) I have a big bag for it
I'd take it if I was spending a significant amount of time in the room. The only drawback is that wifi in hotels is rarely anything to write home about.

I can use my phone as a mobile hotspot if needed. I'll be spending hours and hours in the room :(
Why should they object?

I dunno, bit like taking the plasma tv, microwave and tumble dryer, I suppose

:D
You could always speak to them in advance to clear it with them.

I suggest you leave the tumble dryer at home though

some time ago, i took my god-daughters to a wimpey for lunch - on the window was the 'free wi fi' sign

as we were deciding on what to order, the youngest asked if she could have a free wiffy

i hadn't laughed so hard in ages
Can't see why not, but make sure the room is secured when you are not there. Hotel rooms are not known for their high security, and I am guessing that its too small to put into the safe !
I suppose that one does't use more power than the other. Why not.If it does then I guess the hotel is garnering enough profit for your stay there. If the management raise any objections whisper "tripadvisor" in their lugs. :-)

Noooooo. I could never threaten a hotel with trip advisor, I'd rather set my dad on them
