could someone please tell me how many hours u must work to be entitled to a break? i was previously informed that if u worked 6 hrs or more then u are entitled to a 20 min break which could not be taken at the start or end of shift but didn't have to be taken precisely in the middle. for the past 5 mnths we have not been able to take any breaks, i am currently 6 mnths pregnant and feel that i should be allowed 10 mins to rest, i work in a very busy kitchen and it becomes very tireing, i recently addressed the matter as i find i very unfair that we are expected to work like slaves, and i have just been informed that i am only entitled to a break if i work MORE than 6 hours a day, can anyone tell me if this is true?

do you got any breaks for anyone?
The law states that you are entitled to a 20 minute break if you work more than 6 hours.

The break cannot be taken at the end of the shift, it must be taken in the middle.

So you have been informed correctly.

It depends how long you work for.
