Hi Ed.Once again there is some grumbling about the BA system.Someone suggested that a previous star system was better (I wouldn't know as I wasn't a member then). From what I have heard it does seem that it could be a fairer system and should eradicate some of the silly BA's that crop up now and again.Would you consider re-instating that system?

Two well respected ABers:

1) 33 best answers in 8 years
2) 90 best answers in 9 years.

Both active and productive ABers

3) 1637 best answers ( 99% crosswords) in 16 months..........months.

Does that not suggest an anomaly?

Best answer doesn't bother me. Be nice if more people were polite and said 'thank you' though. The majority do.

I always give a best answer as some of the posts are witty and informative and worth rewarding, I think a star system is a good idea as we can award more than one answer!

Start answering in crosswords if it bothers you so much. Or, better still, just don't look.

You do seem to have got your stethoscope in a knot about that, sqad. As you are someone who is regularly so dismissive about AB, its content and contributors, I genuinely wonder why you concern yourself with it so much.

I might be the only person to say this but; What is wrong with you people? why do you even care about 'best answer'? I've got far more pressing things to deal with than be worried about who gets the best answer to a question that actually probably isn't the best answer or even a legitimate one. You lot really need to chill your beans :/

I too feel strongly about people who do not have the courtesy to even acknowledge an answer,to the extent that I refuse to give an answer to people who in the past have ignored answers given by me.
