We're just adding some links to the AB social profiles (for those interested) and adding a "related question" feature.

The latter is a bit "dumb" at the moment, and runs a direct title search to produce results. We will tweak this in the future to produce more nuanced results.

Let me know if anything is on fire over the next couple of hours.

All the best,

Ed

ok i don't like it, i do find it awkward, i feel like i am looking at too many threads at one time. The badges and best answer hasn't been resolved, perhaps they could be first if changes are to be made.
Thank you Bazile, I'll take refuge in the coal shed.
The only problem I will have is when I've read half a page in a thread, a new answer is added so open the thread and hit 'end' to go to the bottom.

Why dont you have a button that says ' related question ' - which when it's clicked , opens up a separate page ?

Because no one would use that.

Thanks Mazie.
errr underneath this, there are 3 'related' links
2 from 2007 and one from 2011.

Let's do the time-warp again.....

That is a little bit jarring, we'll look to change that behaviour.
i won't be using the related thread either, how do we know it's related ?
alba, just seen that, oh no...
To put it simply, it's cluttering the page up. I'm all for improvements but not this one - a button could work - worth a try?

Equally , how do you know that people will open up the related posts , displayed under the thread ?
Have a flag in the user profile as to whether related questions is displayed or not - fields such as 'favourite food' and 'favourite sports star' seem pointless and so, with no change to record sizes, you could readily store a whole set of such flags, or even new fields such as a skin choice.
Are we getting the wobbly code robot trap soon?
DT well put.
All those in favour of my idea of a button , say aye
aye, aye, aye.
I don't like the 'related questions' thing, it keeps confusing me as to where to add my reply :-/ I suppose I'll get used to it eventually though.
Ed...Had you have sought the views of ABers before introducing the 'related question' feature, I would have commented. However, I am for the moment remaining somewhat silent to see if this is another unnecessary item which has been introduced into AB.

Ron.
Right - a complaint now, it's confusing. there was a DT crossword posting a few mins ago. I read it, go down the page. Yes I was distracted and cam back to see the related thread, thinking that the OP had added questions to his main thread.

Shoota pointed out the error of my ways, my response "Doh, the bloody new system". Confusion can reign. Abort this idea soonest, please.
