diagnostic tool

does anyone know where to get a diagnostic tool for a 1996 frontera 2.2 petrol thats cheaper than these top shops.the one that covers the immobilizer because i have been told there are two types.

please can anyone tell me when i am driving along all of a sudden my fronty dies,theres no spluttering power just dies.now if i reset my immobiliser it will start again,otherwise i really have to keep...
