Vallient heating....THERMOSTAT.

just moved into flat New Vallient boiler 2 yrs old but I cannot understand the thermostat. I'm used to turning a dial to the temp.I want. this is an oblong box dial/knob on the right on the left there...

switching sky box off

I don't have subscribe to Sky now but use the box to watch TV - get quite a few channels extra to the usual for some reason. If I switch everything off for about 6/7 weeks, will I have any problems...
