Why can't a website be closed by clicking on the "X"?

I am unable to close one particular greetings card web site (Jacquie Lawson.Com) by clicking on the "X" and have to resort to the "Ctrl/Alt/Del" route.I don't have this problem...

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the Convesoft "pop-up" that appears ecah time I log onto my Acer laptop
