illegal software

do you know if it is illegal to use copied software like windows xp if it was given to you as a gift? and could they track you in any way ? i reckon nobody would know because you use it at home...

i use morpheus but have no experience of it. do you perhaps know how to compile and use a playlist after you downloaded many mp3 in various folders and files? thank you for your help.

Could I buy a 3G phone in Hong Kong or China, mail it to South Aftrica and chat and see my family on it if we both use it? I don't think 3G is available there yet.
