computor slow

did a recovery with a disc my laptop was going slow now its going slower takes about 4 min to download a web site os xp fire fox incredimail did defrag del files del history...

my laptop is going very slow at the moment trying to do a recovery with disc put disc in drive turned on laptop pressed f12 all that happens f2 keeps flashing at bottom of screen help please
