can the cps take you to court my g/f had droped the charges and the police officer said it aswell but i just got of the phone to them and its the cps takeing action

hello trying to find out some info i was arrested on the 3-8-08 for assault and affrey. the affray was against the police which was droped. and i was told the assault was droped aswell. i got a letter...
