/// Speaking at the Women in the World conference in London, Miss Black, Britain's youngest MP, said that being young, female and an SNP MP meant she was 'disadvantaged in three ways'. ///

How can being young, female and a SNP MP, means she is disadvantaged in three ways?

Maybe disadvantage in one way but never three.

Why not all three?

1. Young people are often patronised for their lack of experience despite their ability.
2. Parliament is often said to ge run like a Gentlemans Club.
3. She is in a minority party that is not part of the Government or main Opposition Party. She has little influence or power.
She didn't mention her sexuality so I assume she doesn't feel disadvantaged there, so some progress is being made
What is the one way she is possibly disadvantaged?
^ Scottish :-)
I find it amazing how some folk look and find something derogatory where chances are none exist. Endearing labels are meant to be friendly; and folk will be enquiring how things are with someone who is so young and in such a responsible position. Its the sort of position where this sort of thing should be like "water off a duck's back". MPs can't afford to, "sweat the small stuff", as some say these days.
Nobody forced her to become an MP. I thought you became an MP because you wanted to improve things?

Quite agree 'me old duck'.
Silly little girl.....
Mhairi Black wasn't generally whinging. She was talking to other women at a conference, about her experiences. And I am sure her speech contained more than this one sentence.
Without any context of what was said before and after the sentence, the report is at best unintelligible, and at worst, possibly misleading.

She wants to "calm down my dear"
What is the one disadvantage she has?
Shes a silly little girl, already told you,..try payng attention
AOG,
Your faux patronising remarks rather confirm what she says.
I think I'll wait for ANOTHEOLDGIT to answer for himself if that's okay with you.

Make up one for yourself, I am sure that it will fit in more with your thoughts, than my real one.
ANOTHEOLDGIT has lost the plot.
You never had the plot IN THE FIRST PLACE THOUGH DID YOU?

/// ANOTHEOLDGIT has lost the plot. ///

On the contrary, I am very aware of the plot.

And mind you don't have your post removed for personal attacks, oh but it don't quite work like that does it?
If it offends you, report it.
You make a statement, won't explain what you mean and then invite me to make up my own reasons for your making that statement. In what way is that the thinking of a rational person?

Are we to expect further unsubstantiated statements from you?
