His Palestinian 'mates' treat them quite well, vetuste. I read somewhere they even give them free flying lessons.
///So they wouuldn't be punished for attacking non gay people?///

? Nobody said anything like that, jom.

Yes I for one, read other's replies.

Apart from the location, what has the stabbing of six gays, got to do with this thread?

erm well both groups were stabbed....

and one there was a vigourous response applauded on AB by the usual cryptoNazis

and in the other stabbing there was not even the ritual hand wringing

and thus we have a contrast which I agree with Sp is worth discussing

and it seems sensible to ask - why did they respond like that in one situration and not the other ?
From SP's link:

"Six revellers attacked by Yishai Schlissel, recently released from prison after serving 10 years for stabbing three people at gay pride parade in 2005"

Maybe SP is reminding us that rehabilitation doesn't always work, AOG.
er I think you mean

prison doesnt always lead to rehabilitiation

[ I wd drink to that having a bail hostel just up the road
the first prison sentence on a man seems to wreck their moral compass ]

I don't know whom you're accusing of double standards, Peter. Can you make you point in plainer language, please?

A jewish extremist who attacks gays is a) rare b)unlikely to attack people at a jewish festival.
You're trying to conflate two things that have nothing to do with each other.
Is this knifeman acting on some sort of biblical authority when he attacked the gay demonstrators?
Sorry AOG - I have inadvertently thrown your thread askew.

(Ho ho 'inadvertently' my butt).
To clarify my link.

If, as AOG proposes, this seems to be the correct approach to Palestinians. Could it not also be argued that the correct approach to keeping people safe at Pride marches is to ban all ultra-Orthodox Jews from parts of the city on the day of such parades?

Ah...so it's the rareness of the attack which dictates the response.

I gotcha.
You're really not clever enough for the sarcastic tone you keep adopting, sp.
Of course the frequency of incidents will govern the response. Otherwise the police would have to set up, practically redundant, 'Operation Tridents' to cover every type of assault. eg. Pensioner on pensioner attacks.
One man's sarcasm is another man's self-parodying bitchiness.

I already know you have me down as an idiot. You said so on a previous thread.

But it's nice to have it reiterated...because I'm that stupid, I fourget.

That's not a typo...I genuinely think that's how you spell 'forget'.
vetuste_ennemi

Well said sir!

Fortunately, my idiocy means that I can't even tell you're having a pop at me.
I think we understand each other very well, SP.

I am often criticised for possessing a Muslim agenda, yet no one seems to criticise sp for possessing a Gay agenda.
AOG

Now come on AOG. We both know what happens if you put a search for the word 'gay' into the AnswerBank's search box now don't we?

And I would argue that no-one believes you have an anti-Muslim agenda.

Your agenda as far as I can see encompasses a much wider brief than that.
Come AOG!

We're waiting for your default response of:

"Well, at least I have the courage to raise such subjects that some might find distasteful"

Come on!

We like the new songs, but sometimes we want to hear the old stuff too...
