My own view, It, It will happen like it or not.
Surely a large percentage of folk now shop on line, available 24 hours.
Sunday is actually the busiest shopping day here...

minty, do the local councils determine the opening hours ?.
don't think so..normal trading hours everywhere in Scotland...although some don't open till 10am
Question Author
Thanks minty, just wondered.
Looks like George is going to leave it up to local councils.
No they do not, tony. They have no say in the matter. Under the Sunday Trading Act of 1994 larger shops (>3,000 sq. ft) are able to open for six hours between 10am and 6pm only. It is up to the individual traders to decide which six hours they want to open.
