Well in the past (90s)having spent over then years at the D. Mirror, and him being at the level he was it is inconceivable he wasnt involved and had no knowledge of what was going on.

I'm beginning to wonder if there ever was any phone hacking. Juries seem quite convinced nobody was doing it; or if they were it was all those wicked workers, and their saintly bosses would have been outraged if they'd known.

My own bosses always made it their duty to know what was going on on their watch, but it seems Fleet St ones seldom bother. How remarkable.

because of a lack of evidence...never underestimate the intelligence of most journalists, especially editors et al !
