Get on a tram go to Fleetwood.
Get on the first train out!
Blackpool certainly is not what it used to be. The last time we went it was full of drunken stags and hens (the human kind) we only stayed one night at the hotel then went to the lake district instead.
Last time we went we went up the tower and watched some ballroom. I didn't expect to enjoy it but I did.
I vaguely remember going there as a kid, and I recall seeing black sand. Is that correct?
Yes that is what we did and it was good. The rest was dodging the drunks, Blackpool no longer seems like a cheap and cheerful family weekend away anymore.
We went every year - Burnley wakes week - when i was a kid and i don't recall any black sand, stuey.
used to go to north pier activities there do not know if this still happens
We went during the week so avoided all the drunks.

I like Blackpool. It has nice bits, scruffy bits and tacky bits. It's great for people watching.
A rather obvious link but still a good source of information:

but probably best combined with:

go to st, anne's much nicer, blackpool is a dump,
And it's full of Scottish people on their holidays ;-)
re above, in my opinion :)
And what is wrong with Scottish people on holiday emulating every day drunken English people?
Actually, Stuey, it's families, not the Scotts being out on the P.
Ummmm, what are you doing awake at this time of your morning? Anyway, I just thought I'd interject a little humour into the thread.
Can't sleep :-(

Well, it's 11pm here and I'm about ready to dive under the covers. Try a wee noggin of that Drambuie that the Scots partake of, Sherlock's nemesis:)
