HI there
I didnt sleep much last night despite taking 7 1/2 mg of diazepam and for 2 days I have had racing thoughts going through my mind like 100 miles an hour when I close my eyes. I am due to go on a train tonight to Manchester for my nephews confirmation on Sunday I have not been on a train for 9 years but I am determined to go but I am exhausted. My parents are due to take me through to Edinburgh from Perth I have got a colouring book and pens, Im travelling first class Ive made a list of things Im looking forward to seeing and doing Ive got my tablet with me but now I am freaking out about these racing thoughts what is the worst that can happen with them are they dangerous dont recall having anything like this ever before. Will they go away when I get on the train is this all just a build up of anxiety pre going? I really want to go I dont want to let this beat me.

Im just thinking that i might be totally fine when I go and all this is the build up and it is all in my head that there will be a problem on the train I have no evidence that I will have a panic attack

Yes they are they are going down on Friday I'm going down a couple of days early to see coronation street tour well that was the plan I've got a nice hotel booked
I'm still don't understand what is causing the anxiety?

Is it a fear of travelling or fear of having a panic attack?

Both I am now really freaked out I have just seen on National Rail there are delays of up to 50 minutes until 4pm because of a signalling problem I hope it will be ok I am passing Lancaster at 10pm this is the sort of thing that worries me what if I am stuck there
Given your long standing anxiety of using trains and especially your debts and limited income I am surprised you have taken this route (no pun intended) when you could have travelled with your parents and visited the Coronation St set on Saturday.

I admire your determination but you can ill afford such extravagances and follies.

gordie.....even if you are delayed somewhere, you won't be on your own...there'll be other passengers with you.
Delays are frequent with rail travel, for many different reasons.
If you get stuck at Lancaster you won't be alone.
I am pretty sure Lancaster is not the Wild West.
The delays will have accumulated since the problem occurred and slowed the service down. You may be held up at the station and maybe it will take a little longer at the signals in question.

What do you do? Ask the steward for another drink.
But you won't be stuck there. No different than being in a traffic jam.
