Has anyone tried it?
I had a bad night last night due to this stupid cough that won't go and I think with a good night I might feel so much better in the morning
Also - whats the herbal one like?
Not convinced by that one - but would love it to work

I used Nytol for quite a while. I went to chemist to get my prescription and bought some Nytol at the same time. Pharmacist asked me if both items were for me, I said yes. She told me Nytol was the reason I have high blood pressure.
I now take night nurse capsules and sleep like a treat!
If the reason for your sleeplessness is your cough, why not try as suggested on other posts. rubbing vapour rub on the soles of both your feet before you go to bed.It worked for me!
This sounds like a joke but it is a really good remedy IMO.

I tried Nytol many years ago. It didn't work but I felt as if I had a hangover all the next day.

I've had a hacking cough over the past couple of weeks and took Benylin original and that helped with the sleeping problem. Made me very drowsy. The coughing got worse at night. I'm sure neighbours from several streets away could hear it too. Sounded more like a bark than a cough.

Hope you feel better soon Ric xx
>>>I always suspect cough medicines don't work

Fom the NHS website:
"Although some people find them helpful, medicines that claim to suppress your cough or stop you bringing up phlegm are not usually recommended. This is because there's little evidence to suggest they're any more effective than simple home remedies, and they're not suitable for everyone.

A homemade remedy containing honey and lemon is likely to be just as useful and safer to take".
