Have the Tories given up on this? The door is open wider than when Labour were power.

Ten years ago the economy was booming and there were plenty of vacancies. Now the economy is virtually stagnant. Can we afford our population to rise at this alarming amount?

Immigration was one of the questions asked on last night's BBC Question Time.

And apart from the one Tory MP, the BBC managed to pick four other panellists that were guaranteed to posses an opposing bias approach on the subject.

Nicky Morgan (Secretary of State for Education)

Stella Judith Creasy MP (Labour Co-operative politician)

Timothy James (Liberal Democrat politician).

Owen Jones (left-wing British columnist, author and commentator and regular columnist for The Guardian).

Hilary Lorraine Devey CBE (English businesswoman, television personality and entrepreneur),

Even the selected audience seemed to see no problem with the numbers of immigrants coming to this country, that is of course apart from an Asian fellow who forcefully suggested that we put an end to this mass immigration, after which Dimbleby swiftly moved on to the next question.
Apart from the tory mp, aog? She was 2 steps to the left of Tony Blair.

AOG/Svejk,

Just a foretaste of how the EU Referendum debate will go. Business leaders will be in favour of staying in. Unions leaders will. Even half the Conservative Party will campaign to stay in. UKIP with just one MP will be marginalised.

no, but doubtless they have a child's nanny from senegal, a housekeeper from somalia, etc etc. even the great and the good have been known to want their cut price, sub minimum wage, exploited immigrant staff....

That may well be true. Fortunately it will not be the decision of any of those groups.
