Two weeks ago I had a letter from Sky saying my subscription was going up by £4 per week. I had been paying £32.50 since January 2013 for Variety pack and Sky Sports. Then I got a letter in January 2015 saying this was going up by £2.00 per month although it went up by £2.22 to £34.77. Then March this was increased to £39.77 Then I had a letter saying a £4.00 increase but in fact they have now put it up to £53.80, which I do not want but have to pay. as I have never made an agreement to pay these prices.
I phoned then to cancel and they offered to drop it to £47.00. After further chat they offered my a £30 voucher as well which I refused and have now cancelled.
Are other people having problems with Sky as well.

I've never had it...and don't think I've missed much tbh.
Yes gollob,

They keep putting it up, £2 here and £4 there, but I have no choice as no Virgin in my area, who I used to be with till I moved.

Every 3/6 months I call them to say its to expensive, and they give me a discount for 3 or 6 months, and I have free broadband for the next 18 months, but I still pay about £59.00 a month.
That's not strict true, trt. You do have a choice - you could cancel the whole package.
Nobody needs Sky, it's not like water.
I completely agree with hc...I've never had any subscription TV.
If you find it "essential", you pay the going rate.
You had sky sports for less than £40 a month!!!!!
I paid over £70 per month when I had it and that was just the basic package + sports.
I now have the basic again but am thinking about NOW - may just leave it until after Game of Thrones finishes
Have yoy looked at NowTV?

I think you can get a weekend pass to SKY Spirts for £6.99 a week. Or the entertainment package for the same. Depending on what you watch, it may work out cheaper.
Ric.Ror,

Game of Thones is on NowTV. £6.99 a month, you get SKY One, Living, Atlantic and Arts plus a load of other channels.

hc,
I enjoy my sports, and its my choice to have Sky, and I am allowed to moan if I wish about price increases, if thats OK with you?
Course you're allowed to moan, trt. It's just that you said you have no choice but I see now you meant you no choice of provider for the services you are prepared to for. :)
My subs have risen to almost £70 per month. We are moving house soon and will reconsider then. Thanks for the heads up that they will negotiate
