"The independent inquiry examining historical child sex abuse in England and Wales is to conduct a "full investigation" into claims made against former Labour MP Lord Janner"

Well, if he can't be tried properly in a court in a law, at least we can find why he wasn't prosecuted years ago.

I was pleased to read this. If he is too unwell to stand trial it's the right thing to do.
Maybe it will open a whole can of worms, and some other prominent figures exposed?

But don't hold your breath.

Its a start, at least.
No need for an investigation, "full" or otherwise, Mikey.

He had friends in high places who suppressed any action that may have been taken against him. Most of those friends are probably now dead. Just recently Alison Saunders, the Director of Public Prosecutions made the personal decision that prosecuting him now "would not be in the public interest". Ms Saunders began her legal career in the same chambers frequented by my Lord Janner.

Nothing will come of the investigation. I imagine that it will come to the same conclusions I outlined above. However, no heads will roll. I doubt if even any names will be named.
I fear you're right in what you say New Judge but what a pitiful state of affairs in a supposed climate of transparency.
Transparency is only for the plebs, penelope.

This country has a perfectly robust legal system which, if allowed to take its course, can usually bring miscreants to justice. It cannot do so, however, when it is deliberately obstructed. That's what's happened in countless cases such as this and no amount of enquiries or investigations will bring those responsible for perverting the course of justice (for that's what it is) to book.
