// but I have not seen a dragon for years.//

Wan't an introduction to the M.I.L. :-)
Wasn't St George allegedly Turkish?
yes, make it a national holiday, its Mr P's Birthday today!!!!
I'm working tonight OK!!!
If it were up to me I would declare a public holiday called Mr P day ;-)
Oh, and apparently he was Syrian, not Italian!!
St David is the only patron saint actually born and bred in the country he represents.
the thought of a turkish/syrian (possibly born a muslim) english patron saint just really tickles me

Well that removes the racist label of us English then. :-)
Don't care, I am retired, all national holidays mean to me is that I stay home because everywhere is so crowded.
Yes it should be a national holiday, shame it's not as much celebrated as our neighbours tent to do.
Emily Thornberry says, 'Shut it, you oiks!'
However, poll in the Telegraph, 85% in favour of Bank Holiday. Have they got one in the Guardian?

Dragons are unfairly persecuted; they're just as lovely as 'cuddlier' forms of wildlife and I thoroughly object to celebrating someone who killed one.

Leave our dragons alone!
...said the Welshman. ;-)
