I love my slow cooker. It is a small one, as I live alone, but I can put things in it and go out for several hours knowing that when I get back there will be a delicious meal waiting for me. My favourite is to put vegetables, whatever I have, in and then put two sausages on top. A sprinkling of soy sauce to flavour and for some reason the sausages are really good. Don't know why they taste different, but they do. I put them in about one o'clock and they are ready to eat about five.

thanks starone, though does anyone have any idea what is the difference between the two

slow cooker or multi cooker . i suspect they are same but i need to know before buying , ill be cooking mostly stews and casseroles, curries etc
Multi cookers and slow cookers both do the same . Google it and you will find them there .
I have a multi-cooker which I refer to as an electric frying pan. It cooks things such as chicken kiev without burning as it's temperature controlled. American pancakes are also great as you can make 4 at a time. I rely on the multi-cooker so much that I have a new one ready and waiting should the old one fail. Big enough to cook a whole breakfast. I also have a slow-cooker which is completely different and I don't use it as much

ok they are similar but multi cooker is just an electric frying pan, right ?

slow cooker is an electric pot ? right only good for casserole / stew etc
Yes, the slow cooker is sometimes referred to as a crock-pot and as you say, is more suitable for stews, casseroles etc, although today I did green beans, small potatoes and Brussels sprouts with a pork chop on top - easily separated when done - and it was delicious. I only put a small amount of water and I don't think that is strictly necessary but perhaps it would prevent sticking.

Wrong...there is nothing stopping you cooking a whole chicken in it.
I cook joints of meat in the slow cooker as well as stews ,etc .It does lovely brisket of beef and leg of lamb.I cook ham hocks in it as well. You can also bake potatoes in it and I once made a cake in it !
Ideal for porridge and it makes lovely rice pudding.Whole chicken comes out unbelievably tender but you won't have a crispy skin.
I have a large slow cooker but as starone says you can get smaller ones if you're just cooking for one .
I tend to use it more during the winter months though for a nice casserole with dumplings etc .Bolognese chilli or a curry of some sort is also good. You can bulk cook and then freeze .
Never had a multi cooker so can't help there .
