I'm got a 2000 MkIV Golf Gti, and want to fit 18" 8J, RS4 alloys. What size tyres would I want - I was thinking of about 225/40R18? Would these fit the wheel arch safely or would I go bigger/smaller..?

I think they would fit without out any problems as long as the car is not lowered too much. The only thing that is a worry is the width of the rear RS4 tyres is 255/40/18. Would this width fit the rear of the Golf
