Sodium chlorate granules, which are white in colour. It kills all plants, so must be kept off beds. Cheapest to buy it from an agricultural merchant or similar using this name, rather than buying products like Pathclear which just contain sodium chlorate expensively packaged.

Roundup or any glyphosate based weedkiller would be my choice.

You could use a residual weedkiller which kills any weeds plus acts as a barrier to stop new weeds from germinating but i'm not a fan of these....you run the risk of transferring it onto the lawn if you **** on the gravel/path too soon and then you'll get footprint shaped dead patches of lawn.

Roundup is by far the safest and easiest to use but you'll need more than one application during the season.

I would not waste money on any fancy glyphosate based weedkillers because you want it for an area where you you want nothing to grow.

As buildersmate says just use Sodium Chlorate mixed with water. Dont use your watering can afterwards on plants unless it is well washed out though
