could be the pollen fillter drain ??

I can remember Audi/VW recalling lots of vehicles of this age because the heater valve failed and leaked coolant into the driver footwells.

Thanks for those answers guys - Would it possibly be anything to do with the heater matrix at all?

It could be the heater matrix itself. They do not leak very often so i would check the pipes and valve on the matrix first.

Thanks all - Turns out, it was the matrix after all.

Hubby took it to the garage and he replaced it in appx 3.5 hours for �80 plus �30 for new matrix!
