...then am I lighter if I turn the lights off in my room. Apparently light has weight, if you get a finely tuned pair of scales and arrange it so that one half is in complete darkness and the other half is in light, then the side exposed to light will go down. Therefore is the same true then if that light is artificial, or does it have to be sunlight....

the same would be true regardles of the light source. though its not really weight that does the pushing but energy. photons have a close to zero rest mass (or is it officially zero now?)
