Didnt know where to put this and figured chatterbank will get a quick response.

A few months ago the colour started to go on my tv (a big old CRT kind of tv)
Got a new flatscreen today but when I put the dvd on its got a green haze on it.
Someone told me last week that having speakers near tv's and dvd's can affect there colour (something to do with magnets in them) and I had my sterio speakers either side of the tv.
Just wondering if this is true or just bad luck that my dvd's packing in at the same time as my tv?
Thanks.

The picture is great Tony, just the dvd but obviously never noticed before because my old tv was up the spout with the colour. Thats why im wondering if its true about having speakers near and affecting both tv and dvd?
Only a guess but think your DVD is on the way out nailit or needs heads cleaning
Disconnect the speakers & see if pic improves
have you checked on tv av1 av2 av3 and so forth
re the speaker cable very near to or parallel with the TV cables. Filters are available if needed once the problem is identified. Does a radio amateur live near by? We will always help neighbours if asked.

Thanks guys, have removed sterio and speakers before installing new tv.
Am going to borrow my mums dvd (which I know to be functioning normally) and try that before getting a new one.
Just seems odd that my tv colour went and now my dvd colour has gone as well.
I've alays had speakers near the TV, DVD and never had a problem with colour.
