This sounds like a sort of party trick.....anyway, I'm at the tail end of a cold and two days ago first one then the other ear started parping like a car horn when I blow my nose. Apparently nobody else can hear it, thankfully. It leaves me sort of deaf and 'wooly' on the parping side. I have a feeling this isn't especially good for me. Hurts ever so slightly when occurring, but no discharge, itchiness or raised temperature. So anyone got any handy advice?
Yes........I have. http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Body-and-Soul/Question1387765.html I agree with the ultimate sentence of janbee. If you want to hurry things up OR get a bit impatient, then use a decongestant nasal spray.
I get this kind of thing at the end of a cold. It's VERY annoying and, as you say, makes your hearing rather woolly . However, it could be worse. The "tooting" could come from another part of your anatomy with all that forced nose blowing.... xx
Don't worry Mosaic, it will all pass and your hearing will be all twinkly again. xx
Many thanks Sqad - looks like this bad cold is doing the rounds somewhat. Glad to know it's not incipient ear-rot or whatever, off to PC world for a celebratory browse.
He he parping. Made me laugh! My new favourite word. I've had this horrid cold (I think most of the country have too) and still after 3 weeks I get a sore throat and a muffled parpy deaf ear.
