Don't you just hate it when people don't listen or pretent not to have heard you and say pardin not pardon .When it happens to me I just say something different to what I first said and as far away from the said topic as possible..like if I said "Doing any thing nice for Christmas"?.After pardon I would say " I was just saying it's cold in the Alps what the price of gas .bet more of you have no problem with pardin at all .
Whenever I talk to young people, I frequently get a "what ?" or, if I'm lucky a "pardon ? " This entails me having to repeat what I have just said, but louder and slower, rather in the manner that the Brits are said to speak to foreigners when abroad. I don't understand why this occurs, but its jolly irritating !

I don't hate anything about how anyone says anything.Life's too short but the OP has given me a laugh so i'm glad there's awkward b uggers still alive and kicking :)
