Dance off Mark & Sunetra

Sunetra out

'Found on Digital Spy'
Jake got through, thankfully, although I blame his partner for the dreadful choreography. Simon did a very powerful Argentine Tango last week which was very well received and Jake could have done equally well if Greek dancing hadn't been forced into it.

*Jake to win*
Exactly what we predicted earlier. It's geting very tight at the top now not much between them
Makes you wonder who chooses the music doesn't it. How can you do an Argentine Tango to Zorba the Greek thought Jake made a reasonable fist of it. I'm getting a bit fed up with all the 'spare' dancers milling about it detracts from the main event.
I'm sure they were all doing 2 dances a week at this stage in earlier series.
I agree about the spare dancers - what are they for? Who really wants to see them? To me they just distract from the pleasure of watching the contestants, who in turn must be distracted by them when trying to concentrate!
I love everything about Strictly, my only complaint from last night was Craig's extremely low mark for Jake. Not Jake's fault, the choice of music for an Argentine tango was daft ! Come on Jake, come back fighting next week! I also thought Sunetra's rumba was fabulous, but what do I know, I'm not a dancer !! My favourite last night was Caroline.
The choreography and music for Jake's Argentine Tango was dreadful and that is entirely the pro dancer's fault.

Sunetra looked plain daft during her dance and my favourite dance was Simon's waltz.
hc, on the special weeks, the pros don't get any choice in the music and they don't have totally free choice on any week. I think when Janette got told that she had to do an Argentine tango to the most Greek of Greek music, she must have wondered how she had upset the producer. I think if they had gone into a proper AT at the end when the music quickened, they might have got away with it, it was certainly stylish but not enough tango content. I don't like the spare dancers either, certainly not last night, Clever Kristina to keep them corralled at the back of the floor!
And what was Trent doing wearing an Austrian/German costume to dance to a song about Holland? Bad costume designer!!
Hopefully the world travel fiasco will have replaced the "dance fusion" fiasco of last year and we won't have two such dire weeks.
I didn't know that, woofgang.
Agree kristina is a very clever choreographer. I think it is a toss up between Simon and Mark as to who is the most improved, although Jake is a revelation. What is the betting that Ola will not be back next year?
Well at least spell her name right. It is Sunetra, I think they are wonderful and now it is hotting up as they are all so good it makes it even harder to see one go. Lets hope they don't read the real carpy comments here.
No chance Ola will be back next year. James has been tweeting very strong criticism of the show, the producers, the way Ola has been treated on the show and he and Ola are trying to get their own tour together with Arlene Phillips.
They might just be trying to change things around a bit by bringing in those extra dancers. I do agree though, it's a dismal fail.
