If we do not know the full size of the universe can we be sure how many stars there really are ? Maybe we can estimate how many are visible, but beyond the horizon all bets are off.

Wow. Glad it kept you night owls amused. A thread which didn't descend into an argument. Now there's a rarity!
One I found yesterday, back on the subject of space:
In the period of time from when it was discovered to when it lost its status as a planet, Pluto did not complete an orbit of the sun.
Grains of sand can not be infinitely small, the Earth is not infinitely large. So the number of grains still can not be infinitely large.
Imagine the comments from the kids... are we there yet?
