hi i have msn and connect via wireless with a dlink router...however, whenever i try to accept any files via msn or use the games on msn it locks up the internet connection and means i have to unplug the router and restart it....i know it is not the msn as I have used the file transfer on other connections and it works fine....any ideas...would the dlink have a firewall that is stopping it??? thanks

It could be your software firewall if you have one, running in Windows. Or it could be something on your Router, yes. What router model number is it?

Side note: In MSN, goto tools->options->connections->advanced settings...

Make sure all options -- TCP, SOCKS, HTTP Proxy -- are ticked. Test the connections if you like, too.

hi it is a d-link dsl 604+ asl router.....
OK. Looked at the manual for it, and not really sure what could be wrong that would stop the file sending, because i'm not sure how msn connects across networks for file sending. Seemingly not the same way it sends the messages themselves.

Have you checked your software firewall, and made sure that it isnt blocking msn in some way?

hhmm it seems to happen on all the laptops here so must be the router...just got an email from msn they think it is not fast enough on the router to when on wireless mode to send the files...
Can you test the router with an ethernet cable? (they often come in the box with the router)
