No one on here can accuse me of supporting Labour, but fairs fair, when are the media going to stop attacking Ed Milliband?

Yes we know he hasn't got the media friendly looks that seems to hold sway these days, but he can't help having the looks that he was born with, have we become that shallow that we only go for the smooth faced look of Cameron or Clegg, but then it worked with Blair and look where that led us.

Janbee...much as I despise Cleggie for supping with the devil, it would seem that he has stopped the Tories from getting away with too many of their more rabid plans. And the LibDems may still be in a position to be king-makers next May, so Cleggie might still be with us for a while longer.

/// Labour won the landslide election in 1997 and again in 2001 and 2005, all under Blair, so I've never been sure where all this anti-Blair nonsense comes from. /// Iraq maybe, weapons of mass destruction certainly.

/// And if Ed is so unpopular, why are Labour still ahead in the Polls ? ///

Well it can't be because Ed is so popular, if that was so, why are some Labour supporters saying that unless they can get rid of him Labour's chances of winning the election is questionable?

/// I have posted this question many times here on AB but I am still to have an answer that makes sense ! ///

That could prove difficult, when you are only prepared to accept answers that only you yourself agree with.
Well...what is your answer then AOG ?

Question ::::If Ed is so unpopular, why has Labour been consistently ahead in the Polls ?

/// Question ::::If Ed is so unpopular, why has Labour been consistently ahead in the Polls ? ///

You are asking two questions, "why is Ed so unpopular"? and I think I and others have regularly answered that.

/// why has Labour been consistently ahead in the Polls ? ///

That is not unusual for a party that is in opposition, especially when the party in power has been forced to make unpopular decisions due to the state of the economy, brought on by 13 years of an unwise spending Labour party, plus a world wide depression.
AOG...thanks for a clear reply !

But the American sub-prime market problems and world-wide depression were not caused because the Labour Governments decision to employ more Policemen, Nurses, etc.

Thank you you were able to understand it then, not being aggressive you understand, just hoping it fixed the none understanding problem that you highlighted previously.

/// But the American sub-prime market problems and world-wide depression were not caused because the Labour Governments decision to employ more Policemen, Nurses, etc. ///

Now I am the one that is stating that I don't understand your answer. Who opn earth said it was, two different issues here, one World Wide economic problems, and 13 years of an overspending Labour Government.
AOG...I am not sure I can put that point any clearer, other than to say that the world wide economic downturn and almost collapse of the banking system wasn't due to the Labour parties polices between 1997 and 2010.
They really needed a poll to prove that?
Apparently so - and still some are in denial.
If David couldn't beat Ed in a 2 horse race, then why would he be any better at beating the Tories? Saying Labour would be doing better under David is pointless and unprovable.

The TV debates might help Miliband (or might not).

There has obviously been a caricature drawn which I suspect is inaccurate. Last time Clegg was perceived as a non entity before the TV debates, and the public's perception of him was completely changed when they saw for themselves. Perhaps Miliband can do something similar.

And who said they were, hence my "two different issues" comment.
