All of a sudden when I try to go into Google, I type the first letter of the subject, and the screen immediately reverts back to,the Google page. I have to then tap on the subject line to get the keypad back.

Anybody got any ideas of what I might have done, or how I can rid myself of the problem.

Mine does that. But my keyboard still shows until I tap elsewhere on the screen. Just tap & carry on typing what you want and then tap search

I think it came about after I installed IOS 8.0
