As you know re my kitchen tops having glue on them - I have just bought glue removal and you have to leave it on for several hours or overnight. If it is not a success I will buy a new countertop.

Two questions: Can I claim off my contents insurance

Should I let my visitor know what has happened or leave it.

what sorta glue how did it get there ?

I am fuming Tilly - but then again maybe it is because I'm an oul maid. LOL

reason I asked that maybe on container there may be advice on removal from surfaces .

googled it again and found an interesting answer. Somebody said just leave it for a few weeks and glue would lose its strength and maybe it would pick off/wash off. Will definitely try that - seems a good enough theory.

sorry weecalf - it was Loctite glue and was able to buy Loctite removal glue.

Put a cloth over it and pop the hot iron over the cloth, when it's warmed, slide a knife under it..Good luck I hope of the suggestions works for you conne

Thanks Mazie - think I will leave it and do believe that the bubble of glue should soften if often enough washed over the coming weeks.

Just another thought if you can build a dam around it out of plastiseen and fill with some soapy water cove with damp cloth and leave to see what happens

conn. how big is the stain and what part of the worktop ?
