// Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that a ground operation is needed to defeat the militants, fuelling concerns that US-led air strikes are doing little to halt Isil's advances.

"The terror will not be over... unless we cooperate for a ground operation," president Erdogan said in a televised speech in the eastern city of Gaziantep, adding that air strikes were not enough on their own.

"Months have passed but no results have been achieved. Kobane is about to fall." //

It is clear that air strikes are not working. Are they just for show? Is Obama too scared to tackle IS properly?

I don't think our long term plan can be to use missiles costing £150,000 a chuck to take out pick-up trucks.

/// As I mentioned only a few days ago on a similar thread, the Moors got with 200 miles of the English Channel but were turned back at the battle of
Poitiers. ///

Ah yes but that was in 732 I always thought that the battle of
Poitiers took place in 1356 between France and England during the 100years war.

But you are right such a battle between the Moors and the Franks did indeed take place at Poitiers.

The Battle of Tours, also known as the Battle of Poitiers – hence the confusion.

I believe Turkey or any other countries are quite capable of tackling any issues as long as America & CO stop selling weapons to either side. As long as they do nothing openly and hidden to create problems. As long as they dump their plans to police the world.

Right now they are creating another problem to fool people that they are trying to sort the problems they created earlier. But the objective is the same, selling weapons, creating civil war and try to weaken any country that in their mind can pose threat to Israel.
///The Saudi's are the main supporters of IS. Private Donations from SA and Qatar have got IS where they are today.///

I do not regard Saudi Arab and Qatar as Saudi Arab and Qatar since 1991. Saudi Arab, Kuwait they are under American control completely and they dare not do anything against American wishes. Qatar is the largest American base outside America. They dare not do anything against Americans wishes either. All of their leader's of king's body guards are CIA trained and will put a bullet through their head the moment they refuse to pay for the waepons delivered to ISIS, a £10 cheque they write would be dishonoured as all of their wealth is in American banks. All these Arabs are in stranglehold of America.
