you can live and have fun without taking drug or drinking beer although i do like to have a drink myself dont feel you need to take drugs to have a bit more fun truth is you feel alot worse the day after trust me im talking from experience herex

I say drink, smoke and die younger!

You don't have to take drugs, but if people want to experiment it is down to them. I personally, would never touch anything chemical, also I don't drink often but I do I tend to have a bit of a session when I do, I guess 'they' would call me a binge drinker, but I'm happy with my life and enjoy what I do. I smoke about 5 fags a day, which isn't a lot. I try to exercise when I can, and eat pretty healthily during the week, but enjoy pigging out on crap and slobbing around at the weekend. I guess it's just down to personal choice, I don't enjoy spending 40 mins on a rowing machine for example, but I am sure that there are some that do.

Your priorites change as you get older. When you're young, you can be as carefree as you like....have lots of sex, drugs and rock n roll and not regret it....after all, you ain't gonna get old.

But then, you settle down, maybe have a few kids and hit 40 (i'm 40 in a few months). When this happens, you might start getting signs of a mis spent yoof....a few extra stone in weight, can walk up the stairs without panting, you're liver's at bursting point and blood pressure and cholestral are through the roof.

It then hits you that you might be over half way through your life and, despite all the hangovers and smokers coughs, you actually quite like being on this planet and wouldn't mind seeing your kids grow up and maybe see some grand kids.

So i think that's it's a case of enjoy life to the full but do everything in moderation. A few pints on a friday night and a couple of spliffs at a part really ain't gonna hurt anybody.

I have always lived in the fast lane and touch wood I have had a fair run :-) I slowed the 'high' life down a couple of years ago as I want to retire when I'm 55 (Now 52) I have found that constant work is much more of a stress on my body & mind than anything I have done before ................... What may be good for one may be bad for another, at the end of the day it is down to what you want out of life so choose wisely Grasshopper! ....................... (Let me know if you want to party :-) lol

I would never tell anyone how to live their life, as it's a decision that they have to come to themselves but this is how I live mine.

I have experimented with most drugs in the past, barring the very hard rugs of this world such as heroin and crack. On the whole I have had very pleasent experiences, and have never accepted anything from anyone I considered less than a responsible and trusted friend. As for drinking, like most people I have had a few nights out where I've had too much and embarrassed myself, but on the whole I drink responsibly, and whilst I get drunk, I'm not the person slumped on a park bench being sick. I've never been in a fight, ever had any problems with the law, or landed myself in hospital, and I'm 25.

I personally think that these experience have enriched my life, and developed my character, and they sit alongside the other parts of my life. I'm still very dedicated to my work, and sporting activities, and (fingers crossed) consider myself to be a well rounded, productive memeber of the community, that individual anyone could take home to introduce to their mother!

The older I get the more I think I should have got more grass stains. If the opportunity arose to do some of these things that aren't very good for you, I think I would do them now, as life is for living. But that is ONLY cos I never really did them when I was 16, like most people did. I think the idea is that you get all that out of your system as a teenager, and then be a bit more sensible as an adult, as your body can't take abuse as you get older!
I'd agree with most of the posts on here- go out and have fun while you're young. It's a cliche, but you are only young once. Having said that, you certainly don't need drugs and drink to have a good time. I've never done any drugs, and don't feel I need to in order to enjoy myself. Although a few beers does help...

I'm with Scarlett, and for the same reasons. Enjoy yourself while you're young; your body can stand it better. Of course you don't need drink and drugs, but people use them because they enjoy them. I find most heavy drinkers and stoners to be boring people who've half lost their minds; but the ones who overdo it only occasionally - the ones who sound like supernick - seem well-rounded people who still get a kick out of life. (And I don't think it much affects their longevity.)

The decision is really down to you and what sort of a person you are, so only you can make it. But it's not like there's a big black line with actuaries and accountants in dark suits on one side and crazed crackheads on the other. Most people are in the middle having as much fun as they feel like. Go ahead and enjoy yourself.
