Out with grandson today and he commented on something I guess I've taken for granted over time! He said why do drivers get close to the gutter when turning right and close to the white line when turning left? He then said rather quietly, men don't seem to do it as much. Great harrumph from the back seat and red face in the front!

A few moons ago I used to teach roadcraft with the I.A.M.....if conditions allow, you should hug the white line for a left bend and hug the kerb for a right one. This will give you a better line of vision through the bend and thus more time to react to a problem.

The real reason is that you guys drive on the wrong side of the road:)
That reminds me stuey of an occasion when i was driving in Orlando and got lost .
I stopped and asked a copper for directions - after giving me directions , his parting quip was ' be careful now , given that you British drive on the worng side of the road '
Well, you certainly can't say that you drive on the right (as in 'correct') side of the road can you:)
